The calling card of our gym is No-Gi BJJ, which is basically Brazilian Jiu Jitsu without the gi or traditional kimono. Typically, in no gi classes, you see students in shorts and rash guards or tee shirts:
Low, Medium, High
Wednesday Friday 10am
Sunday 11am (open mat)
Within the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu exist two types of training: 1) with a gi (the kimono), and 2) without the gi. The latter is called “No-gi” or “submission grappling.” We offer both programs at American Combat Gym in Deerfield Beach. And we encourage students to train in both disciplines–they reinforce one another.
No gi specifically will absolutely improve your cardiovascular health, sharpen your reflexes and improve your overall level of conditioning and fitness.
This is a dynamic self-defense method that focuses on using the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without a uniform. In No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, the goal is to gain a dominant position using strategic positions and submission techniques.
This category explores many aspects of the ground game that you see in mixed martial arts (MMA) and can also be applied to self-defense situations. Students with previous wrestling experience tend to find No Gi Jiu-Jitsu to be a great addition to their wrestling experience.
This workout is suitable for everyone. Learning the techniques of submission grappling from a prone position, when the opponent has the advantage of being on top. You will love this class from the first lesson!
